Surgery

Who do you trust for your pet’s surgical care?

At Golden Valley Animal Hospital, we are experienced in all aspects of pet surgery. It’s something we handle on a day to day basis. We also recognize, however, that it’s not a common experience for you and your pet. For that reason, we make every effort to reduce stress, ease your mind and keep your pet as comfortable and safe as possible.

Our surgical care is second to none, with up-to-date technology and techniques delivered by a team of highly skilled, compassionate professionals. We place a strong emphasis on pre-operative screening and individualized pain management plans. That’s because these things allow us to prepare ahead of time, enhancing precautions, controlling pain and reducing the chance of complications.

Your pet’s surgery will begin with the confidence and reassurance of our dedicated support staff. They will welcome you both and get your loved one settled in. Surgical preparation will involve gently sedating your pet using the safest, most effective anesthetic products. To further protect your companion, advanced monitoring equipment will be used throughout the procedure. Our experienced veterinary technicians will use these tools to make sure vital signs and pain levels remain right where they should be.

Some of the surgeries we regularly perform at Golden Valley Animal Hospital include:

  • General Surgery
  • Spays/Neuters
  • Soft Tissue Procedures
  • Oral Surgery
  • Orthopedic Procedures

When the doctor has completed your pet’s procedure, we will shift our focus to beginning the recovery process. This involves relocating your loved one to our hospitalization area where we will continue to keep a watchful eye as he or she wakes up. Rest assured that we will do everything within our power to make this part of the process as peaceful and calm as possible. After all, we specialize in tender loving care!

When you arrive to pick your pet up, we will spend some time explaining our post-surgical care instructions. Depending on the situation, we may send you home with pain medication. Our goal is to keep your companion as comfortable as possible in the days and weeks following surgery. Should any questions or concerns come up once you’ve returned home with your pet, we invite you to pick up the phone and call us any time. We’re here to help!

When it comes to surgical care, Golden Valley Animal Hospital has your back. You can rest easy knowing that your loved one will be in excellent hands.
