MeganMegan grew up around animals of all kinds, but it was her experiences with her family Veterinarian that made her interested in Veterinary Medicine as a career.  Their impact on her own pet’s quality of life made her realize she wanted to be able to provide that same care for other pets.  This realization led her to her undergrad studies in Animal Science at NDSU.  Partially due the pandemic, she moved back to the Twin Cities and transferred her studies to online courses through Kansas State University which also gave her the opportunity to find a job at a local clinic.  She began working for Golden Valley and Greenbrier Animal Hospitals in the fall of 2020.

Megan spent a lot of time working on a horse farm as a child and when she was old enough, she got a job at a local Petco.  At that job, she was able to work one-on-one with some of the animals that were up for sale or adoption.  She bonded with a particular cockatiel who couldn’t seem to find the right home which allowed her to find the perfect forever home for him.  That one individual made her realize just how important compassion, patience and love are when dealing with any animal.  Being able to provide that for the pets here, as well as meeting and forming bonds with clients and being a part of making an animal healthy again are all things Megan loves about her job as an assistant.

She currently lives in Maple Grove with her boyfriend, Logan and they share their home with Mushu, the Bearded Dragon, Leopard Gecko named Thistle, Corn Snake named Duncan, several tropical fish and a myriad of invertebrates.  She also shares “custody” of the family Golden Retriever mix, Indy, with her parents who still live in her childhood home in Maple Grove.  Although Megan is very busy with her studies and work, she does enjoy finding some free time to enjoy snowboarding, long boarding, reading, drawing and painting, sewing, horseback riding, houseplants, fishing, and almost any activity outdoors.
